Alcohol Misuse
Young people are constantly surrounded by images and messages associated with alcohol use and misuse. Performance in Education work in partnership with students to develop practical solutions and ways forward that reflect their attitudes, preconceptions and concerns. Together we are able to define improved behaviours and safer strategies that enable students to make informed and sensible decisions about alcohol when they become of a legal age to purchase it.
Students gain an enhanced understanding of alcohol and alcohol-related issues for under-18s including:
Challenges to misconceptions, stereotypes and myths
An exploration of society’s values and attitudes towards alcohol
An increased awareness of health issues relating to alcohol
An increased awareness of the potential impact of alcohol on relationships
An increased awareness of the personal and social harms that can result from alcohol and binge drinking
This project is designed for both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. It links directly with National Curriculum aims and guidelines for PSHEE: Personal Wellbeing and Citizenship.
