Pedestrian Safety

As young people gain their independence and spread their wings an opportunity to explore risk, responsibility and consequence enables them to make informed decisions, manage their personal safety and understand how their behaviour affects those around them.

Our Road Safety project explores behaviours and outcomes and inspires students to address key learning objectives including:

raising awareness of their personal safety, as a pedestrian, cyclist or bus user

understanding of how distraction (friends, phones, ipods) can put their safety at risk

promoting debate and discussion about how and why young people are influenced by peer pressure

challenging irresponsible behaviour, and examine the consequences of this behaviour

recognising the value of using sustainable transport and how to stay safe while travelling
