Our understanding and experience of theatre in education as a learning tool has evolved over many years of working with audiences on a whole range of PSHEE and Citizenship issues including; NEET awareness, Youth Arson, Post 16 Options, Road Safety, Anti Social Behaviour, Alcohol Awareness, Substance Misuse, Teenage Pregnancy and Raising Achievement.
Performance in Education offers a complete education package comprising of:
Theatre is a fantastic tool for emotional learning. It creates an immediate bond with the audience. It invites us to care about the characters, about their situation, sympathise with their challenges and ultimately it stimulates the audience to come up with better ways forward. Theatre enables us to leave a legacy with the audiences we work with.
The performance is followed up by an interactive workshop experience led by a trained facilitator to further explore the issues raised. Through this workshop students can explore the issues and discover answers for themselves as they challenge their own views and preconceptions.
To ensure a lasting legacy in schools Performance in Education offer teaching materials to continue educating students on the issues raised after our visit. These materials address National Curriculum standards, are designed using OFSTED approved layout and are accessible to specialist and non-specialist teachers. By doing this we ensure the highest possible take up of the follow up work to ensure maximum impact of your issues.
Performance in Education’s evaluation allows you to consult with your target audience as to the success of the programme. Every young person and adult we work with completes an evaluation form. We then collate the statistics to create a comprehensive report which is delivered in both hard copy and PDF format. You are consulted on the questions used so the evaluation can be used as both a data collection service and as an accurate analysis of the success of the day.
